Though I have always loved poetry I would've never imagined being on the path that I'm on today. At the age of 16 I suffered a catastrophic injury on the football field which left me a quadriplegic. It caused a tremendous shift in my life making my goals and vision of success change. Even at that moment publicizing my poetry was far from my mind. All that I knew was that it gave me an outlet and made me feel a sense of comfort. It wasn't until I share my poetry that I discovered that it can also be a haven for others, and a way to relate to people that think they are alone. So, it has been a personal goal of mine bring people together to share their story with poetry as their platform. My first book was an anthology that brought 12 poets together in one book from the North Texas area. And my goal is to go from region to region and state to state, gathering poets and giving an opportunity to tell their story. Also, find poetry lovers on my InstaGram and create poetry by giving my interpretation of the pictures they send me., A lot of my followers have even given me the name "The Picture Poet." I want to continue my journey bringing people together developing a network that I call, “my poetry family.”
